What is a Fiscal Sponsor?

The National Council of Nonprofits defines a fiscal sponsor as “a nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects.”

We are grateful to be a fiscally sponsored project of the United Methodist Church of Kent. Located in Kent, Ohio, the church and its members express their faith through action and are involved in many mission projects. Their mission work provides help to our local area, to Ohio, to the country, and the world.

As a small organization, we have limited resources to become a non-profit on our own. The United Methodist Church of Kent’s sponsorship allows these ministries to have the benefits of a non-profit, like tax-exempt status (so donations designated to Love, Love, Love Ministries are tax deductible) and the ability to apply for grants. These benefits allow our ministries to provide programs free of charge..
